I've had this (short shift kit, aluminum base plate bushings, brass transmission bushings) in my '93 JDM T for about a year now. Definitely an improvement over stock! However, I still have issues with the whole cable shifter feel, and the throw could be shorter yet. I may move the upper shifter cable attachment point even higher, lengthen the lateral arm a bit to shorten left-right throw, and figure out something to tighten things up properly at the transmission end... or maybe replace everything with a rod-type system.

Bought my 87 N/A, waxed it and installed this with the 93+ shift lever. It works amazing, sits perfectly low, shifts way quicker and wasn't that hard to figure out. Maybe an hour to install in the dark with a flashlight. - Travis

Had a spare '93 shifter. Install went smoothly . Interior pieces need to be removed to gain access to this area. Take your time and don't rush. Install will be quick. Grease not included with this product. Wouldn't hurt to have it on hand to lubricate the shifter base for smooth shifts. Very pleased with result, look, and performance.

Bought this kit for my 91 mr2 n/a.. the only negatives for me were the drop plate came as a hard plastic material not a metal like in the photo shown, but it works the same way. Every gear change was smooth until I got to third gear, the third gear is a little tricky at first but you'll get used to it. Overall great product and the shifts are definitely noticeable and more precise when you drive.

Installed this kit on my 85 MR2 & works like a dream! Also installed the brass shifter cable bushings & aluminum shifter plate bushings. Shifts are short & crisp like it was new! Couldn't be happier. Great kit to firm up & shorten your shifts!

Both parts of this combo pack are simply, but effectively, designed. It's worth it to spend the extra money and get the full kit with the bushings.

Easy to install - I can feel a difference in all of the gears - wish I had done this from the first day - I have to say of the few aftermarket products I\'ve installed on my car, this one is the most noticable and appreciated!! Don\'t wait another day for yours!

I bought the 93+ combo, installed the shift lever and rse drop plate, the cable bushings go in tomorrow. its so much shorter and after driving a hour or so since i love it!! the only prob is the hole in the shifter base is smaller than need be with the 93+ shifter. so im gonna enlarge that a little or cut down and clean up the adjustment screw on the end of the forward/aft cable. i would highly recomend this to anyone that wants a short shifter for a small price!

I just installed this today on my '86 AW11 and what a difference it makes! It makes the shifter feel much more crisp and accurate. I was a bit worried about the installation at first, but after tearing into it, this is probably one of the easiest mods I've ever done to the car! Everything you need is included (except the tools!) and it's all very straightforward. On a side note: Excellent customer service! I was always kept notified of my shipping status, making the three week wait much easier to bear, as me and my order were not forgotten! Thank you!

Installed on my '88 N/A. Obvious shorter throws on odd gears, maybe a little more subtle on the even ones. First is a little more difficult to get into, but that's probably an install error on my part. Very easy to install and completely worth it.

I installed this last night and it took me a while with no instructions. The shift boot and the TRD shift knob look awsome and function very well!!! Thanks David!

When I bought my MR2 I thought the throws were needlessly long and the shift knob was too high. This is a really simple and cheap mod to get your throws and shift knob to a comfortable location. Completely worth the money. Not as short of throws as I wanted, but you can't beat the price for added performance!
