A common weak point in the MKI MR2 is the nylon gear on the power window motor. This gear has a tendency to strip, at which point it will no longer raise or lower the window. Toyota only offers this gear as part of the power window motor, which makes replacement a rather pricey proposition.

In the past some people have had metal replacements machined so that they would not have to worry about it stripping. We feel that metal is not the right material for this application, as the gear is no longer the weak link in the power motor system and there is a good chance you can burn out your window motor should the window ever meet resistance on the up or down stroke.

Our replacement gear is precision cut from Delrin with a press fit center gear section.

Perfect fit, looks OEM, and paired with great instructions. They were step-by-step for my 88 SC. Passenger window now goes up all the way, eliminating the water leaking issue I had before. Fast shipping, too.

great product but make sure you do the diagnosis written in mr2oc.com if the other gear that moves this gear is brocken, this product is of no help. i forgot how you'd know but there's a message board, so check it out.

The gear was a little loose but it works just fine. The instructions were very helpful. I drilled three half inch holes in the inner door panel to make it easier to replace the motor in the future. The only way to make this job easier is to have smaller hands.

I got these awhile back because the old gears were clearly broken or worn and they were amazing replacements. Relatively easy to replace and loving that my windows go up and down really smoothly now.

Was not a press fit, so I had to glue it, but otherwise it was easy and all went smoothly. Managed to get it done in my lunch break and now my windows are perfect. Good product, and surely better than forking out for a new motor!

The gear sent is of coarse a quality product as you can expect from David and twosrus. Just a disclaimer, make sure this gear is the bad gear because if its the smaller gear in the center, your wasting your time. Mine turned out to be both gears that where missing teeth. Great product if you just need the big gear, and a money saver

Nicely made replacement gear, they work very nicely. You wouldnt think having actual teeth on a gear would affect how your window works haha
