My Mk1 MR2 had "loose" steering since I got it 2 years ago. I was sure the rack was worn, but 2 separate mechanics said the rack was okay. All the rod ends, ball joints, etc looked good and the wheels were just balanced and aligned. So, why did my MR2 have such terrible "bump steer?" It was the worn out rubber rack bushings! If you have any play or loose feeling in your steering, you must get these urethane bushings and swap them for the old rubber ones. Took me about 1.5 hours in my driveway. Grease them as prothane recommends, inside and out and you will be VERY happy. Best $15.00 you can spend on your MR2! Now mine handles like it was designed to do!

This is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to make your AW11 feel so much better on the road. My 1989 SC has done 70,000 miles and I replaced the originals with these as part of an overall programme to update all the bushes. There was an immediate and very noticeable change in both the steering feel while driving and the lack of jarring in the steering wheel when the car went over bumps. In my opinion if you have an AW11 and you don't fit these then you are missing out on one of the least expensive but most effective upgrades you can do. A really ecellent product!!

Fit is very good, installation very easy. results were more subtle that I expected on a 100,000 miles plus car. tightened the steering up a bit. The factory bushings were actually surprisingly still in decent shape, so this may be why it wasn't a dramatic difference..
