If you've ever tried to replace the timing belt on a 3S-GTE, you know that lining up the tensioner bolts can be one of the most frustrating and time consuming tasks in the job. Make the job easier with our kit (based on a suggestion from Brad Bedell).
Kit includes:
2 proper length studs
2 nuts
1 1.27mm hex wrench
1 tube of Permatex Blue thread-locking compound
These studs replace the bolts that hold the tensioner to the engine. Simply apply the thread locking compound to the stud, thread it into the block as far as it will go and then slip the tensioner over the studs when it comes time to install.
While these studs thread into the Gen3-5 block, they do not bottom out at the appropriate depth like they do on a Gen2 and we do not recommend their use on the Gen3-5.
