Solid Brass Shift Cable Bushings

Great parts, they really give the shifter a tighter feel. Highly recommended!

These were definitely worth a try before you going to more expensive fixes! My transmission has 177k, fast shifting gives me a crunch in 3rd and MT-90 didn't fix it. The inner part of the bushing was deformed and was not circular, so it took some strength pushing it out but it was not bad. The first few shifts to 3rd grinded, but after 50 miles on it, the crunching is pretty much gone w/ normal driving. When I purposely TRY to crunch it, the crunch basically was reduced to about 25% of its original intensity (sometimes not even there), so I say it was definitely a success. I wish I installed these sooner!

I had some messed up shifter, where it was sometimes ez and sometimes hard to shift. I bought these and shifting is so smooth. It was a little more difficult to install in my particular situation because the original bronze was seized to the pin, so it was the rubber that was rotating. UGH. I ended up removing the upper link to be able to grind off the bronze, and the lower one was just a pain. BUT well worth it.

Inexpensive, can be installed in literally 5 minutes, and really does eliminate the rubberiness. I rarely write any of these product reviews but this simple and easy device impressed me. The shifter feels very direct, just as if there were no cables. Of course it does not shorten the throw.

Worlds of help for my 75K mile MKII. Especially in addition to rotating the suare pin. Gets my recomendation 100%!

These are a inexpensive highly useful part, My shifter would crunch and sometimes give me trouble shifting into gears, mostly resulting in grinding. But after the trans bushings and the short shifter kit matched with the aluminum base bushings. I have no noise, smooth, crisp, precise shifts. I am 100% pleased with my purchase. Fast delivery too.

Very easy to replace. My factory bushings were worn and I was able to feel a slight improvement in shifting quality - helped to eliminate the crunch combined with the shifter base bushings. Good cheap mod.

WORTH THE MONEY! AFFORDABLE GOOD UPGRADE! ANYONE CAN INSTALL, it's easy as pie. you just need jackstands. i recommend LEAVING THE WASHERS, even though you don't have to. If you don't, there's space, and it's not that tight. the lower one is easy. the upper one i didn't put the washer cuz it was hard to find the hole for the pin. Also, I'd USE THE STOCK PINS FOR BOTH. The ones given don't go on as tight on mk1s, don't know about other cars.

Shifting Now Is A Lot Smoother And Easier. Install Was A Breeze. I Would Leave A Stock Washer For The Lower Bushing Though. There Is A Lot Of Play In The Cable Without It. At First I Did Not Leave A Washer, So The Difference Was Not As Great; I Then Went Back And Installed The Washer And It Was A Lot Better. Great Product!!

These brass shift cable bushings are awesome! But they're not just for MR2's. They work great in my Corolla FX16 GT-S. Shifting is very precise and smooth. I highly recommend them. trucke

Good product, very effective when installed in conjunction with the short shift bracket and the lowering plate. Easy install, the hardest part of installing it on my MK1 was popping the old bushings out.

AMAZING! I am so blown away by this product. I have a 1993 mr2 and I kept missing 5th gear. I also would hear a clunking noise when I would shift into second. I bought this product, installed it and noticed that the inside of my lower stock bushing was not even round anymore! Now the car shifts perfectly in every gear! I do notice a little bit of a vibration in the shifter when in 5th gear and leting off the gas but it is VERY VERY LITTLE. This product made me so happy that I had to write this review! I STRONGLY recomend this product. I also purchased the shifter base bushings but did'nt put that in yet. My only gripe was when I ordered the parts they ran out and I had to wait a week for them to arrive (I understand now why they sold out of them). But Two's R Us was very nice and always kept me updated on the status of my order. Thanks Two's R Us!

What a difference!! A really cheap mod that makes a noticeable difference to the shift and gear selection - combined with a TRD short shifter it feels like a gaited gear box. Transmission feels really short, and really tough. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended inexpensive mod that will make your shifting smoother, more precise and quicker. Installation is easy and after completion I noticed a definite improvement in shifting on my first drive.

I love these. The old ones put up a fight, but I took A long bolt w/ a nut & some washers to take up slack, a socket big (big enough to fit over the cable end link) & a small socket (a little smaller in od than the rubber bushing) & made a real simple extractor. Took like 5 minutes, then the time to r&r the air box. You can do w/out taking out the air box, but I like room.

Awesome upgrade! This is one of those things where you just can't go wrong, like.. fixing a broken windshield, only good things can come from it!

These are great shifting is smooth and accurate, but then again my original ones weren't that shabby either so not such a dramatic difference but definitely worth the upgrade! Go on why haven't you bought a set already?

very easy to replace, i had the back of my aw11 on ramps and replacing the bottom bushing was easiest from under the car. the upper cable was tougher to do because of the location and the old bushing sleeve had 'seized' to the pin. a few minutes of grinding and i was able to remove it and the new brass slid right on!

Excellent product, Our drag mr2 gets more consistant runs as I dont miss gears and the changes are quicker. they also really help you feel whats going on at the box. fantastic upgrade

Worth every penny! This is the perfect compliment to the Jon0/RSe shift combo pack. This was installed on my '86 aw11 in about twenty minutes, and the hardest part was removing the old bushings. The installation was very easy, and the instructions were very clear and accurate. Contrary to other reviews, if you install this correctly, it WILL NOT affect your transmission linkage in a negative way. They are no larger than the stock rubber bushings, otherwise they wouldn't fit at all. The only way you will grind gears after installing this is if you've twisted your linkage while installing. Mark everything before you start, and there will be no problems. If you are debating buying this product, then debate no longer. Buy it.

An absolute must if you are into racing or spirited driving. I thought I had to rebuild my trans but my mechanic said to try this first. Since then I Never miss another shift.

Holy cow! Pulling out the old rubbers i thought they weren't in bad condition, but the bad synchro (1st to 2nd)i thought i had making high rpm shifts slow, and grinding often, were remedied by this quick installation. The post office totally was incompetent, as i got these and my clutch mc with these in the reservoir, no bag or instructions, but David took the time to tell me how to pop out the old ones. GET THESE! you won't regret it

I hate to ruin the perfect record for this part, however in my case as nice as the feel is with the fresh bushings, my old shift cables arn't working well with them. I have ground second in my car multiple times at high RPMs which I never had to deal with previously and the left action of the shifter is very restricted. Before you ask I marked the cables and connectors to make sure I put them back together correctly however these are still the problems that I have experienced. Great craftsmanship and finish, but I want to grab second again with confidence again...
