MKI MR2 Coolant Reservoir Cap Assembly

If your car is like just about every other MKI MR2 I've seen, the coolant reservoir cap is crumbling and has at least one hole in it. This can be a serious problem, since the holes normally occur in the molded tube that is integral to the cap - this allows the coolant system to pull air back in as it cools instead of coolant and can lead to overheating in severe instances.

This is an OEM part, made out of a more pliable rubber than the original clear plastic caps. Includes the cap, hose going into the reservoir and both hoses that attach to the top of the cap with clamps.

What our customers say...

FINALLY! no more tape or liquid gasket! I'm tire of garbage getting into my tank or the lid falling off all the time.

If you have any question about the integrity of your coolant reservoir at all, do your engine a favor and buy this simple kit. It will create the sealed system that is required for your cooling system to operate correctly. The plastic is much better quality that the OEM and is not prone to drying and crumbling like the 25 year old OEM parts. Buying a new radiator cap at the same time is a very good idea. Bleed the air and enjoy a properly cooled engine.

This is a must. Looked for one of these for years. It is even made in Japan! A little tough to get on the first time, but it fits perfectly.

one less leak on my 87 NA. I hadn't realized how important is was to not be sucking air back into the system like what can happen with a broken cap.
