Probably my most favorite item I've bought on Twos R Us. After swapping from an NA to turbo engine lid, it would stay stuck even after bumper adjustment and was complicated to open. After installing the gas charged strut, my engine lid no longer gets stuck shut! It was definitely worth the price just for that. Opening the lid is flawless now.

Got this for Christmas this morning. Just installed it. Took about 15 minutes. There were no instructions included, but if you're still running around in a 20+ year old sports car, you should be able to figure it out. I never noticed the minor annoyance of walking around to the passenger side of the car to prop the engine cover open. Now that I think about it, I bet that is a nod to the RHD status of the car in its native land. Never again. Roll up to the car show (or into the garage), pull the release, grab the cover and open it. It is a little pricey for what it is, but it is good quality stuff that I suspect will last a long time. Five stars all the way!

A Better Way to Hold Your Engine Lid Open! This strut makes opening the engine lid a one-handed operation, and with as often as the prop rod clip would break (and usually at the track where it was least convenient), this eliminates one more trackside repair. Easy to install (aside from the original screws that broke off as I tried to remove them from the engine lid cover), this kit is a snap to install. As with everything twosrus sells, the brackets are well made and powder coated, and the strut is of good quality and the right pressure for lifting the lid, taking all the wasted time spent fabricating a DIY engine lid support out of the install.

This rod is quite useful and the shipping was super quick! It helps clean uo the eninge bay and leaves a nice professional look. The old prop rod was broken so I needed something to help keep the eninge bay open.

bracket on the engine lid made the ball joint for the strut to close to the lid. it hit a lilbit making the stut pop off. put a washer under each bolt and evrything seems to be good now. strut and brackets are good quality. just wish they came with 2 washers just incase there bracket is to close to the lid.

easy instalation, BARLEY fits with the K&N FPIC (had to bend filter brackets). Looks good, but wont hold any more weight on the lid, would recomend opting for the heavy duty strut instead.

Great product. It does rub against the engine lid, and as previously stated, a couple of washers fix that problem. It is a little shorter than the stock prop, so the engine lid doesn't sit open as high (not a big deal). But overall, it is very much worth every penny!
